Canvas sizes - inches and dpi and pixels by Qinni, journal
Canvas sizes - inches and dpi and pixels
This is a sort of guide on canvas sizes, inches, dpi and pixel x pixels.
when it came to canvas sizes, I always kind of assumed that inches belonged with dpi and pixels were just pixels and that everyone knew that; but i read a whole bunch of comments on a tumblr blog where someone asked about canvas sizes, and SO MANY people were replying with things such as, "4000x4000 px at 300 dpi" or "2000x2000 px at 200dpi".

Ok, if you guys are still wondering, this post may help you. Its just a way I go on about it.
First of all, what is an art block? Just like writer's block, an artist gets an art block. Its a state where you either; can't think of anything to draw, your drawings turn out crap, you're just not getting your drawings right, or just uninspired.
So how do I deal with it?
The very first thing you MUST do is to actually STOP DRAWING. This is your brain telling you to take a break.
If you force yourself out of an art block, it ALWAYS shows. It will look rushed or unthought of.
Second, is try and do something else NOT related to art/creativity...
Manga Studio Debut An excellent set of Manga Studio 4 tutorials, ranging from the Debut to the EX version. Brought to you by Doug Hills in conjunction with Smith Micro. Bookmark on YouTube.
This series is good because the speaker is articulate, and the actions on the screen follow commands. It is difficult to find quality tutorials that are not merely process pieces or showcasing artwork, but this set goes above and beyond -- it actually focuses on the tools of the program and illustrates how they can be applied! Enjoy, and make sure to thank him on his video pages!
